Tai Snaith is an artist, illustrator and writer based in Melbourne. Generous doses of honesty, absurdity and animism heavily influence her artwork and ideas alongside a recurring focus on collaboration, experimentation and nature.
She draws a wide range of subjects from her fictional Hooraffes' (half horse/half giraffe) to elegant still lives of stacks of books and plants. Snaith's work explores inner thoughts, spirituality and symbolic weight of objects and creatures of the greater animal kingdom.
Recently revisiting her childhood love of drawing animal families and researching their fascinating private lives and quirks, Tai has published two popular children's books; The Family Hour in Australia (2012) and Sticks and Stones, animal homes (2014), both with Thames and Hudson.
