Zahra Newman is an actor, known for Truth (2015), Comedy Showroom: Bleak (2016) and Wentworth Prison (2013).
A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, Zahra's previous theatre credits include Miss Julie, The Cherry Orchard, Richard III, As You Like It for Bell Shakespeare Company, Menagerie for Daniel Schluser Ensemble/MTC Neon Festival and The Book of Mormon. Film and television credits include Sisters, Wentworth, Rush, Childhood's End and Truth.
She won the Best New Talent at the 2017 AACTA Awards, the Green Room Award for Best Female Actress for Fandom, and was nominated for Helpmann Awards for Best Female Actor in a Musical for The Book of Mormon, Best Female Actor in Play for The Mountaintop and Best Female Actress in a Supporting role in a Play for The Government Inspector.
Zara is a proud member of Actor's Equity and has read two stories for Story Box Library - Home in the Rain (Bob Graham) and The Patchwork Bike (Maxine Beneba Clarke).
