Leah is an Australian/Indian actor, writer and voice artist. Leah’s most recent appearance is in the anthology film, Here Out West currently screening in cinemas in Australia,  plus the award-winning series The Letdown for ABC/Netflix, The Hunting  SBS/Netflix and Sunshine SBS TV.

 

Leah is also recognised for her performances in Wentworth, Jack Irish, Rosehaven, The Wrong Girl, Catching Milat, The Murray Whelan Series directed by Sam Neill  and feature films, Erskenville Kings and Jewboy which was selected for the Canne Un Certain Regard competition.

 

As a long standing presenter on ABC TV’s iconic children’s television program Play School, Leah also contributes to content as a writer. She recently wrote Play School’s first Punjabi and Hindi language songs and performed the traditional Punjabi folk dance, Bhangra.

 

During the covid lockdown periods of 2020 and 2021 Leah produced, wrote and presented Tree House Cubby  a weekly online arts program for children from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

 

Leah was nominated for ‘Most Outstanding Performance by an Actor – Female’ playing Anne in the Foxtel comedy series Stupid Stupid Man, and was acknowledged by the Australian South Asian Centre as a Stella South Asian Woman 2021 for her contributions and achievements in Film and Television.

 

Leah recently completed filming the crime mystery series, Savage River for ABC TV with acclaimed director, Jocelyn Moorhouse.

 

A graduate of  WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts), Leah is also a graduate of Australian Film and Television and Radio (AFTRS) in Documentary Filmmaking and is presently completing her Masters of International and Community Development at Deakin University.
