The Swap - Activity Time

Set up and play in your own baby shop

What you need:

• Dolls and soft toys

• Homemade price tags and play money

• Cash register (computer, keyboard or calculator)

  —Set up your baby shop by displaying your dolls and doll accessories. —
  Create price tags for each of your shop items.
  —Set up your register with play money.
  —Invite your friends, siblings and parents to visit your shop.

  ● Firstly, encourage your child to re-enact the story (swapping and buying babies for the same reasons as Caroline). This will most probably lead to imaginative play.
  —Take turns with your friends/family to sell and buy in your shop (you might even like to return items).

  ● Practise adding, taking money and giving change.
