Discussion Questions
PRE-VIDEO:
- Do you have a favourite story character? Why is that character your favourite? What do you like about them?
- Think about your favourite person in the real world.
- How would you describe them?
- What words can you think of to describe their PERSONALITY?
POST VIDEO:
- According to Mat and Melissa, what makes a good story character? What sort of things do YOU think makes a good story character?
- Why is it important to think about the characters in your story? What sorts of things might you want to know about them when you’re writing your story?
- Mat described how he asked his characters questions to get to know them better. Do you remember some of those questions?
- Melissa talks about using character brainstorms as a tool to find out things about her character’s personality. Do you remember what sort of things she said she jots down?
