Bens first paying client came his way when he was only twelve years old. Since those early days he has worked as a designer and art director in the advertising world. Sanders returned to illustration full-time in 2006, and has since picked up a number of awards with his nostalgic nod to mid-century advertising art. In fact much of his work would fit comfortably in a 1950's children's book, a jazz album cover or even on the side of an ice cream van.
Ben's first book "I've an Uncle Ivan" was launched in April 2013, and has been shortlisted for the AOI illustration awards in the UK and shortlisted for the coveted CBCA Crichton Award for illustrators, 2014.Ben's next children's book "I Could Wear That Hat!" has just been released.
