Julie Murphy

Julie Murphy is a former zoologist and zookeeper who writes picture books inspired by her love of animals and nature. Julie enjoys creating stories that encourage imagination, empathy and a connection to the natural world. Her 20+ books - fiction, nonfiction and verse - have been published in Australia and the USA, with several foreign language editions and numerous awards and shortlistings. Julie lives in Melbourne with her family and rescue wonder-dog, Banjo.
